Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY;[1] born March 17 in 1988) who is also known as Grimes, is a Canadian performer, singer music producer, and songwriter. 2] 3] The variety of her first music has been called "lo the fi R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". The artist has used elements from hip-hop, electronic and rock. The majority of her songs touch upon science fiction themes and feminist concepts. She has released five studio albums. Born and raised in Vancouver (later relocated in Montreal), Grimes began making music on her own during the latter half of 2000 and released two albums, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa In 2010, she released her first album through Arbutus Records. After the signing of 4AD her popularity grew with fame with Visions the band's third album on the studio. Visions comprises the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" as well as the Canadian music industry Juno Award for Electronic Album of the year. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, came out in the year 2015. A number of publications have rated it the top album. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth studio album. Grimes is also a judge for Alter Ego, a music contest. She was a part of the Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
